Bobby V(ignapiano)

I started singing on the street corners of Brooklyn in the mid 1960’s and after a few personnel and name changes our group called The Demolyrs were singing and playing together for over the next 20 years. I learned about singing and arranging while working for Ernie Maresca of Laurie Records as a session singer and guitar player. Ernie is best known for writing most of Dion DiMucci’s biggest hits such as The Wanderer, Runaround Sue and Lovers Who Wander just to name a few and of course his own big hit, Shout Shout Knock Yourself Out.

While working with Ernie my group recorded a song for United World Records which I wrote called Rain and we were honored to have Ernie write the B side Hey Little Rosie. We went on to record 3 more songs for United World Records but then Uncle Sam called and off we went to do our duty. We regrouped after our return and toured the tri-state area just as the “Oldie Revival” was kicking in and worked with such famous groups as The Platters, The Angels, The Regents, and the Shirelles before calling it quits in 1986.

I retired and moved here to The Villages and am enjoying my new career as a solo performer and continuing to do what I love the best…. singing and entertaining.

Upcoming Shows

Hi all,

1-Just a reminder about the Showcase of Talent on Sept. 24th and 25th in the Savannah Center (Schedule attached) I will be performing in the large theater room on Thursday the 24th starting at 2:45PM. I’m working on a great show for you that you will not want to miss! Tickets are available at any regional recreation center, $5.00 per day.

2-Mark your calendars and get your tickets for my 6th annual “Lounging with Bobby “V” show coming this October 30th in the Seabreeze recreation center starting at 6:00PM. Tickets are $15.00 P.P. (Flyer attached) Reply to this email to reserve your tickets. The proceeds will be going to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, a very worthy organization.

3-After our sold-out Blast from the Past evening show on Sept. 4th we are back in the Moyer recreation center on Oct. 1st starting at 1:30, doors opening at 1:00.

4-And finally, please find the attached flyer for our “Classics, Crooners and Country Cruise” featuring myself, along with Mr. & Mrs. (Tim & Donna Francis) and The Villages Chicks. Three great acts each performing on three sea days! There are still some choice cabins available!
